Joe Jones
July 15, 1923 - August 30, 1985.
Born Joseph Rudolph Jones, Philly was a great jazz drummer. In 1947 he became the house drummer at Cafe Society in NYC where he got the chance to work with the best bebop players of the time. From 1952 through 1958 Philly was a member of the Miles Davis Quintet, which many consider the greatest of all jazz groups.
